I am on a mission with my new Salton Dehydrator. The first thing we are attempting is Beef Jerky. You need the following:
- 1 Rump Beef Roast thinly sliced into 3mm to 6mm slices against the grain.
- Marinade of any kind– I am trying Stubbs ( Soya Sauce, Garlic and Red Pepper). Let marinate for 8 to 14 hours.
- When ready to place in the Dehydrator, drain remaining liquid and spread on grates without overlapping.
- The Salton says Jerky will take 8 to 10 hours on 65-70’C uninterrupted..it is ready when it cracks when it is bent.
